11th-grade photography majors shared their artist statements at the opening reception for their exhibition: Fragments in Focus



Families, students, and staff posed in the photobooth at the opening reception of Fragments in Focus, our 11th-grade photography exhibition.

Students engage in collaborative hands on laboratory activities each week in their science classes. Today, students were determining the percent water in hydrated Copper (II) sulfate.

This week in our Earth and Space Science classes students:
*observed computer models of how seismic waves move through Earth's Interior
*They participated / observed a human demo of how the motions of p and s waves (seismic) are different
*This allowed them to see how they interact with different materials (phases of matter)
* Then they worked as a group to determine what is happening inside the Earth.

12th grade Art and Design majors visited each other’s studio classrooms to leave feedback for each artist’s developing series of art shown through thumbnail sketches, color palettes, and techniques practice. The 3 final works will be displayed at the Senior Art Show on April 11th.


Students in Ms. Zubrovich's 11th-grade Advanced Illustration class created prints based on their personal heritage or a social issue. They enhanced their prints by sewing, collaging, and painting on top, amongst other techniques. This student used repetition to create this powerful piece based on Taino symbolism.


Please join us at the opening of the photography major exhibition, displaying the work made by juniors in our Advanced Photography class this Fall 2024 semester. The reception will be held on Thursday, January 16th @ 4:30 PM- 6 PM in room 821. Student presentations will begin at 5 PM.
