🖤✨ The Black Student Union visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to explore “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” — a stunning exhibition celebrating the legacy of Black fashion and its powerful ties to history. From historical figures like Olaudah Equiano, who our 11th graders study in U.S. History, to cultural icons such as Zora Neale Hurston, students experienced firsthand how art, identity, and fashion intertwine. 🎨👗 An inspiring trip for our art and fashion majors at HSFI! #HSFI #BlackStudentUnion #SuperfineExhibit #MetMuseum #BlackStyle #FashionHistory #StudentVoices

Students used glow sticks to mimic marine bioluminescence.

The activity tested how temperature affects light-producing chemical reactions inside an organism. The chemiluminescent reaction inside a glow stick slows down in cold temperatures, resulting in a dimmer but longer-lasting glow. In warmer water, the glow sticks produced a brighter light that fades more quickly. This behavior parallels how changing ocean temperatures can influence the intensity and duration of bioluminescent flashes in real marine organisms.
