Bridging to the Future: Preparing NYC Students for Professional Success
Today, our students took a significant step toward their futures as Bridges From School ToWork joined our classroom to dive deep into the expectations of a professional environment. This session focused on the essential "unwritten rules" of the workplace that prepare students for life after high school. Through engaging discussions, students tackled real-world dilemmas, such as the social etiquette of technology—specifically whether it is ever appropriate to text friends while on the clock—and the critical importance of punctuality and the impact of arriving late to a shift.
These lessons are a core component of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), which are designed specifically to help NYC students build a bridge between the classroom and the workforce. By exploring various career paths and practicing job readiness skills like effective communication and teamwork, students gain the confidence needed to navigate their next chapters. Whether they are heading toward immediate employment, specialized training programs, or college, these classes ensure that every student has the tools to turn their school experiences into tangible, real-life opportunities.

The Student Lab Squad is back at it, keeping our science department ahead of the game! 🧬🛠️
Shoutout to this dedicated crew for their essential work behind the scenes with Mr. Rosenthal. From unboxing new equipment to troubleshooting gear for Biology, Earth & Space Science, Chemistry, Physics, and our electives, these students make sure every experiment is "go" for launch.
Before any lab starts, the Squad is there testing the tech and prepping the setups to ensure everything runs perfectly for our classes. Thanks for being the technical backbone of our hands-on learning! 🧪🚀
