Our youth leaders attended their 1st leadership workshop. They were challenged as group to get across the gym in an activity called "The floor is lava!". Shout out Cameron, Jared and Jai for shining as a leader during this activity! After identifying our leaders, students notes qualities strong leaders demonstrate and related those to our success skills! With this in mind, our youth leaders applied "Work Hard" success skill to provide feedback on a lesson for Equity and Emotions classes.

On October 2, 2024, the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI) opened its doors for the first Open House of the season, welcoming prospective students and their families. The energy in the air was palpable as our school came alive with excitement and curiosity, providing a glimpse into the vibrant community and opportunities that await our future stars. Our Admissions team and student Ambassadors worked together to ensure that the event was informative and inspiring. With Ambassadors representing all six of our unique majors—fashion Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Illustration, Photography, and Software development—attendees had a firsthand opportunity to connect with the heart and soul of HSFI: our students.

Making meaningful connections in our Boost class! This week the 11th grade focused on creating meaningful connections in our BOOST classes. The activity allowed students to answer questions, as seen in the pictures, and have meaningful and insightful conversations that allowed everyone to share their own perspectives. We hope that these activities inspire our students to be the best versions of themselves both academically and socially.

This week in Forensics Science, students took on the roles of various forensic specialists investigating a “mystery skull.” In groups, students studied and reported forensic information about the skull. Based on this information, students assembled teams to choose one among three people ( Anu, Spakwa, or Qara) as the most likely origin of the skull.
