
Last week, the Restorative Justice team visited our equity and emotion classes. They introduced our class to community building circles. We loved the "silent birthday line-up''. We worked on communicating with one another without using words. Thank you again Ms. Valette and the Restorative Justice team!

We enjoy having our 11th Graders responsibly utilize the Wellness Office to complete assignments, study for exams, and quietly play games during their free period!

This week our students had the opportunity to visit COOP Tech Manhattan to learn about the various trades they offer, exposing our students to multiple student career pathways.

11th grade Art & Design majors met with the Meatpacking BID for a walking tour and visit to the Whitney Museum of American Art as research and inspiration for their upcoming tabletop design challenge. Select designs will run on top of the cafe tables throughout the Meatpacking District's iconic plazas starting in late Fall.

The 2025 Fashion Show theme will be: Amazon Sanctuary! We are so excited to see what amazing garments and accessories the students design and construct this year.


The votes are in and the Seniors have chosen the theme "Honey Winter" as the theme for their upcoming Holiday Window Project. It was the creation of Ayanah Reliford, and now the whole class will expand on it

HSFI Nail Club hosted their first meeting this past Friday, October 11th
This Friday, October 11, the Nail Club hosted their first club meeting in Room 726. Solymar Rivera, HSFI Senior and Nail Stylist, presented all the amazing and informative sessions one would like to participate in if they are interested in nail design as a possible hobby or business venture. We're thrilled to announce that the next club meeting, scheduled for October 25, 2024, at 3:45, will be a hands-on session on "Starting with the Basics". We can't wait to see you there!

In preparation for Biology lab, our students learned about the different parts of a microscope and practiced how to focus in on different images using various magnifications.


This week in our Earth and Space Science classes, students created a graph (HR Diagram) to represent the size, luminosity, and color of various stars in our galaxy. The purpose of the task is to decide if our sun is unique or is it just an average star. They were shocked to discover that our sun is just an average star - it's not very big or bright in comparison!

We had an amazing 1st meeting with Green Team! We discussed the meaning of sustainability, decorated puzzle pieces and create art work from recycled paper. Thank you Compass for hosting this wonderful event !
