Youth Leader Spotlight- Diamond Tarayao
Last year, I knew I had wanted to become a youth leader because I really enjoy helping people and I had also loved making our school feel like a positive, welcoming place. I loved taking on the leadership role and I am proud of how dedicated I am to this role. One of my favorite things that I love about HSFI is about all the chances we get to grow, how much we can get involved, and just be ourselves. Another way I am involved in our schools is through ACC, the Asian Culture Club. As a student of Filipino decent, it is amazing to be able to connect with other AAPI students and share our cultures with each other and the school.

Anti-Prom Designers spent some time shopping at Mood Fabric on Friday - November 14th. The New York Public Library sponsors the students by giving each student $100.00 for fabric, trimmings, and notions. The designers will start the design production to prepare for the June 18, 2026 fashion show. Hope to see you there. All students under 18 are welcome to come to dance, eat, meet new friends, enjoy the fashion show, and have some fun.

Youth Leader Spotlight - Malia Jones
As a SEL Youth Leader a lot of what I do is helping people. Teaching lessons, grading work, and making sure my students are on task is just the surface. Along with being an Equity and Emotions Youth Leader I also co-lead the Fashion Ambassadors, a group of students who represent the school and help out with a lot of the events around the school behind the scenes. Being a co-leader means looking out for those I oversee, as well as giving feedback on performance, and training new members. This is very similar to SEL where all 4 of my co-teachers plus myself are all expected to look out for each other and give insight on different situations we may need support on. #hsfileads #youthleaders #SEL
