In Ms. Goldstein’s and Mr. Ng’s Financial Math class, students began the lesson by reading an article focused on financial literacy. They then participated in a gallery walk of posters from past classes to build background knowledge, spark ideas, and become familiar with key concepts and vocabulary. After an introductory lesson on financial literacy, students were challenged to reflect on what financial literacy means to them.

Working in groups of four to five, students collaborated to design original posters that combined academic content with creativity. They used their art skills to represent ideas such as budgeting, saving, investing, and planning for the future, while actively using new financial vocabulary in meaningful ways. Throughout the process, students engaged in discussion, shared responsibilities, and supported one another’s thinking.

This hands-on, collaborative activity helped make financial literacy relevant and engaging for seniors. By blending creativity with real-world content, students strengthened their understanding of essential life skills that will help prepare them for independence and success beyond high school.

Research Presented

Our 10th Grade Art & Design students are kicking off their Abstract Art project!

Students began by researching artists, exploring visual inspiration, and analyzing how abstract artists communicate ideas through color, shape, line, and composition. Today, they presented their research and creative concepts in Ms. V. Chans class, practicing communication skills while refining their artistic direction.

This process encourages them to think critically about artistic choices and helps them build a strong foundation before beginning their final artworks. We are excited to see their ideas come to life!
