Our Forensics Science Elective students are analyzing their own hair by looking at the external and microscopic structures of hair. They are comparing three major structures of hair - cuticle, medulla types, thickness of cortex and color. At HSFI students can take various science electives including Neuroscience, Environmental Science, Forensics, Textile Science, Marine Biology, and Genetics.

Ms. Chavez's sophomore fashion design class is working on pattern making and construction of their shorts.
Mr. Centeno's 11th-grade honors class is all hands on deck for the Spring bridal competition. Last month, they attended a bridal textile master class led by Madeline Garner.
Last month, Ms. Johar's accessory design class visited Coach's patternmaking workshop at Hudson Yards. They additionally learned leather hand-stitching from Aki and Tom of the College of Creative Studies.
Last month, Ms. Minsky's Senior Portfolio Development class visited the Museum of Modern Art, where they received a guided tour of current exhibitions. Students looked at Suzanne Jackson's work and made collages in the gallery inspired by imagery that represents their identity.

Ms. Rojas's Fashion Design honors class went on a trip to a Lingerie Factory facilitated by the Underfashion Club.
Highlighting Jasmine Hernandez from Mr. Jones's Senior Photo class. She Creates beautiful images and pushes barriers that stand in her way to develop her best work. Like many of our students, she is the future of the photo industry!
