In the ocean, water molecules cling together to create waves and currents. Our Marine Science students explored that same cohesion in action during our Water Cohesion Races! Cohesion is the property of water where water molecules are attracted to other water molecules. The hydrogen bonds at the surface of water create a film-like effect, which even allows small insects to walk on water!

In the senior textile science elective, students kicked off with a hands-on mystery fabric challenge. They explored the properties of different unknown fabrics and made their first guesses at each identity. Throughout the semester, they’ll test and investigate further to uncover the true fabric identities.
