This week, our senior class had the exciting opportunity to visit Coop Tech and learn more about the many vocational and technical education programs available to students across New York City. The trip gave students a firsthand look at how career and technical education can help turn interests and talents into meaningful career pathways.
During the visit, students explored a variety of hands-on training programs, including:
Automotive Repair
Engineering and Technical Design
Plumbing
Culinary Arts
Information Technology
Construction and Building Trades
Students toured classrooms and workshop spaces, observed demonstrations, and learned how these programs provide real-world experience and industry-based skills that prepare students for both college and career success. They also gained insight into the certifications, internships, and postsecondary opportunities connected to many of the programs.
Experiences like this are invaluable because they allow students to see the connection between classroom learning and future professions. Exposure to technical and vocational education helps students better understand the many opportunities available after high school and encourages them to think confidently about their futures.
We are proud to continue building our partnership with Coop Tech as we work together to support, inspire, and prepare our students for success in the workforce and beyond.
