Morning

Each morning at the High School of Fashion, we are proud to welcome our students into a safe, structured, and supportive environment designed to set the tone for a successful day.

As students arrive, they are greeted right outside by Principal Daryl Blank, offering a warm and visible presence that starts the day with connection and care. Upon entering the building, students are welcomed by School Aide Kelly Wade, who assists them with scanning their IDs or entering their nine-digit ID numbers to ensure accurate attendance and a smooth entry process.

Inside, our Community Associates are ready with large blue bins and padded pouches, thoughtfully provided for the secure collection of internet-enabled devices. This step helps us maintain focus and create a distraction-free learning environment from the very start of the day.

Students are also greeted by our dedicated NYPD School Safety Agent, Rayshell Williams and her staff, who plays an essential role in monitoring entry, supporting students, and assisting visitors. In addition to Ms. Wade, our Community Associates, and NYPD staff, an Assistant Principal is always present, helping guide students efficiently to the upper floors and ensuring a steady, organized flow throughout the building.

Once inside, students may take elevators during morning hours on either side of the building to reach their classes or head to the cafeteria, where they are warmly welcomed by Community Associate Anthony Edwards and our Food Service team, led by Ms. Joanne Garrett.

Our morning procedures are intentionally designed to ensure sufficient staffing, smooth transitions, and, most importantly, student safety. We take this responsibility seriously because we understand that when students feel safe, seen, and supported, they are better prepared to learn and thrive.

Mornings matter. Starting the day on the right foot—with structure, positivity, and care—helps students build confidence, stay focused, and make the most of every opportunity ahead.

At the High School of Fashion Industries, every day begins with purpose.
