Family Visit Day

Our Family Visit Day on March 6th was a wonderful success, bringing families, staff, and students together for an afternoon focused on connection, collaboration, and community. As part of our ongoing Parent School Initiative, the event welcomed families into the school building to learn more about programs, meet staff members, and engage in meaningful conversations about student growth and success.

Throughout the day, families had the opportunity to connect with teachers, counselors, and school leaders while gaining a closer look at the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to students. The event created space for open dialogue about how families and educators can work together to support students both in and out of the classroom.

A highlight of the event was the special celebration of our 11th grade families. As a way to recognize their engagement and involvement, families were entered into a raffle for the chance to win two tickets to see Six on Broadway. The raffle added an exciting element to the day while also expressing appreciation for the important role families play in students’ educational journeys.

Our 11th Grade Wellness Team emphasized that events like Family Visit Day are an important part of strengthening the partnership between schools and families. Research consistently shows that when families are actively involved in their children’s education, students are more likely to stay motivated, perform well academically, and feel supported in their learning environments.

Beyond the raffle and program highlights, the event fostered something even more valuable—a sense of shared purpose. Families were able to ask questions, learn about resources available to students, and build relationships with the educators who work closely with their children each day.

The success of the event reflects the school community’s continued commitment to collaboration, communication, and student-centered support. By opening the doors to families and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement, HSFI aims to strengthen the network of support that helps students thrive.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and contributed to such a positive and welcoming atmosphere. We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships and creating more opportunities for connection across our school community in the months ahead.
