HSFI’s Restorative Justice Youth Leaders recently brought joy and connection to the community by hosting a special Galentine’s Day service event at the Project FIND Woodstock Senior Center. The event was organized through HSFI’s chapter of GlamourGals, a national organization dedicated to fostering meaningful intergenerational connections between teens and senior residents.

The mission of GlamourGals is to provide seniors living in care with a renewed sense of community and self-worth, while also helping teen volunteers develop essential leadership skills rooted in empathy, compassion, and service. Through this partnership, HSFI students have the opportunity to make a positive impact while learning the importance of giving back to others.

During the Galentine’s Day celebration, HSFI students offered seniors festive Valentine’s Day manicures, complete with bright colors, nail art, and friendly conversation. As students carefully painted nails and chatted with residents, the room filled with laughter, stories, and smiles. The simple act of self-care became a powerful moment of connection between generations.

For many of the senior residents, the visit provided a welcome opportunity for companionship and celebration. For students, the experience reinforced the values of kindness, patience, and community engagement that are central to HSFI’s Restorative Justice programming.

School leaders highlighted that events like this go beyond volunteer hours—they build meaningful relationships and strengthen community ties. By participating in programs like GlamourGals, HSFI students continue to demonstrate that service, empathy, and leadership can come together to create lasting and uplifting experiences for everyone involved. 💅💖
