The Class of 2028 Wellness Team is fostering creativity, culture, and community through two Wednesday afternoon clubs that meet weekly from 4–5 p.m.: the Afro-Caribbean Student Association (ACSA) in Room 643 and the Knitting Club in Room 822.

Each club, led by members of the 10th Grade Wellness Team, offers students a space to unwind, connect with peers, and explore new interests during the mid-week break.

Last week, the ACSA hosted a vibrant celebration of holiday traditions from across the African and Caribbean diaspora. Students shared stories, music, and customs representing their families and communities, transforming Room 643 into a lively cultural hub. Organizers said the goal was to help students “see themselves reflected and celebrated” while deepening understanding of global traditions.

Meanwhile, the Knitting Club continued to build both skills and friendships. Members practiced new knitting techniques, helped each other with ongoing projects, and enjoyed the relaxing rhythm of crafting together. Club leaders noted that the weekly sessions have become a “welcoming space for creativity, conversation, and mindfulness.”

Both clubs will continue meeting throughout the semester, offering students enriching ways to connect, learn, and express themselves beyond the classroom.
