The "Be an Informed and Contributing Member of Society" improvement team is driving important conversations about student success and engagement within our school. The group is composed of an equal number of staff members and students, ensuring that decision-making and brainstorming directly address the needs and perspectives of our entire community. We meet at the beginning of each marking period to discuss how to better equip our students with the knowledge and resources necessary to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. This collaborative approach allows us to identify key areas for improvement, creating a truly shared vision for making our school environment more connected and effective.
Our student leader, Empi M. began our initial discussions. Through our shared conversations, we revealed that many incoming students often struggle to find their footing, lacking awareness of the numerous clubs, activities, and support services available to them compared to their upper-class peers. The group recognized that a stronger understanding of the school's landscape is the first step toward becoming a contributing member of the community. To address this gap, we are actively brainstorming and developing ideas. We look forward to sharing more details on this program soon, as we work to ensure every student feels informed, valued, and ready to contribute to school life.
