This week, our students had the exciting opportunity to meet with their Con Edison mentors for a hands-on career development session. The day kicked off with a Resume 101 mini-workshop, led by a Con Ed professional who walked students through the essentials of building a strong, standout resume.
After the workshop, mentor–mentee pairs spent dedicated time revising and strengthening students’ resumes, focusing on formatting, identifying transferable skills, and highlighting accomplishments. For 45 minutes, the room was buzzing with productive conversations and personalized guidance.
To close the session, students participated in a brief but lively activity exploring a timely topic:
What role should AI play in creating a resume?
This sparked thoughtful dialogue about authenticity, skill-building, and how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly in the job application process.
We’re grateful for our ongoing partnership with BBBS x Con Edison and proud of our students for engaging so actively in their professional growth. Opportunities like these help build confidence, sharpen career readiness skills, and strengthen meaningful mentor connections.
Stay tuned for future updates from our mentorship program!
