Meet Ms. Goldstein! She was born in New York and has been teaching for 13 years. Ms. Goldstein loves spending time with her lovely corgi, Murray. During her free time, she usually spends it playing with him at the park. A fun fact about Ms. Goldstein is that she enjoys hiking and traveling to see the Swiss mountains. She also loves listening to audiobooks and watching reality shows, sometimes getting recommendations from her students to see what's trending!

Her journey to education wasn’t straightforward. Initially, she studied to become a  meteorologist at the University at Albany. She was able to get certified to launch weather balloons. Growing up, math came more easily to her than other subjects. So, she decided to double major in math. She knew that she belonged in an industry that helps people. Ms. Goldstein soon realized that a job engaging with students was something that suited her since she found kids easier to manage. She then went to school for education and got certified to work in special education. Ms. Goldstein intuitively worked with middle schoolers for 2 years until she switched to high school education. Soon after, she decided to apply to HSFI as a math teacher and has been flourishing ever since.

Some goals Ms. Goldstein has for the year are to become a stronger teacher in the special education department. She would love to observe her colleagues, listen to audiobooks, and  take into consideration any advice that comes her way. A more exciting goal that Ms. Goldstein plans to accomplish is putting her design skills to practice and planning her own wedding. Congratulations, Ms. Goldstein!.

During her time as a teacher so far, she loves how collaborative the math and ISS departments are at HSFI. She loves how helpful everyone is and feels very supported by staff and students alike. Ms Goldstein's  students have been using her templates and scaffolds to help them master grade-level standards on classwork and assessments. She's happy to say that she's never had any problems with her students when it comes to having their phones out in class.

If you ever see her in the hallways or in your class, please continue to welcome her into the HSFi community. Thanks so much, Ms. Goldstein, for her hard work. We can’t wait to see what you bring and accomplish as a new member of our community!
