FAB FLEA MARKET

Our HSFI Green team and Senior Textile Class teamed up to host a Fabric Flea Market right before the thanksgiving holiday. The HSFI Green team promotes sustainable practices around the school and helps our classroom and school become more eco-friendly whether through helping label the trash bins in a noticeable and creative way for recycling, or recycling good fabric. There was leftover fabric from last school year that was going to be thrown away, but instead the green team had suggested to host this Fabric Flea Market to give this fabric a new life and purpose. Our Senior Textile Class had carefully sorted and organized this fabric to ensure a smooth and engaging shopping experience.

Students were able to come and shop at the Fabric Flea Market in our auditorium during their lunch periods on Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25. Each fabric would be 50 Fashion Dollars when the students purchased. There was a huge turn out of students that came and bought some of these beautiful fabrics.

Huge thank you to our students and facility that helped set up this event including our HSFI Green team, and Senior Textile Class. Thank you to the students who participated in this Fabric Flea Market supporting a greener school environment and growing the culture of sustainable, creative, and responsible fashion practices within our school community. Please feel free to show us you amazing creations with your fabric by tagging @hsfi_greenteam on instagram.

Let’s continue making a difference on our planet by choosing mindful, and sustainable practices every day whether in the classroom, or outside of school. Together we can shape and promote a future of responsible and eco-friendly fashion.
