The Student-Staff Improvement Team met to continue developing our school wide focus skill: Constructive Problem Solving. Students and staff collaborated to explore how strengthening this skill can improve communication, decision-making, and overall school experiences at the High School of Fashion Industries. Together, the team looked at ways constructive problem solving can help both students and staff navigate challenges more effectively and build a more supportive, solutions-oriented community.
During the meeting, the group identified different areas of growth for underclassmen and upperclassmen and created two specialized focus groups to address these needs. Underclassmen will work on developing skills that support their academic and personal organization, such as checking email regularly, managing their workload, forming respectful relationships, staying updated on JupiterEd.com, and building routines to arrive to school and class on time. Upperclassmen, meanwhile, will focus on growing their independence and preparing for life after high school by strengthening college and career skills -- like. networking, meeting deadlines, and building a resume. These targeted groups will help ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.
The team is excited to continue this work throughout the school year!
