Ninth Grade Global History students were able to connect what they learned in class to a real life monument! On Friday, November 14th, Ms. Gerasimovich, Ms. Barbagallo, and Ms. Severino planned a trip to the Western Hemisphere's largest Hindu temple in Robbinsville, NJ, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham. The word Akshardham means “a timeless place”. The simple but enduring vision of this site is that everyone may find peace and inspiration upon entering Swaminarayan Akshardham regardless of one’s beliefs and background. After a comfortable bus ride, students got a private tour of the vast temple buildings and were marveled by the elaborate architecture and statues. Created from hand carved limestone, pink sandstone, granite, and marble, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham is an artistic wonder that includes the most intricate building designs, foundations, and statues.
