Students Unite to Promote Mental Health Awareness and Healthy Habits

New York, NY – October 10, 2025 – On World Mental Health Day, the 10th-grade class at High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI) came together for a special event dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and the importance of self-care. The gathering fostered a positive environment where students could share, learn, and celebrate strategies to maintain emotional and psychological well-being.

Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of activities designed to promote mindfulness, stress reduction, and overall mental wellness. One of the highlights was an interactive sharing session where attendees exchanged their favorite self-care tips—ranging from journaling and meditation to exercise and digital detoxes. This collective wisdom not only empowered individuals but also strengthened the community’s commitment to supporting one another.

“We wanted to create a space where mental health is openly discussed and prioritized,” said Ms. Castellano, 10th Grade Guidance Counselor. “By encouraging students to take time for themselves and recognize the value of self-care, we hope to build habits that will support their success both in school and in life.”

As the school community moves forward, the message is clear: caring for your mental health is not a one-time event but a daily practice. The 10th graders and their peers are encouraged to carry this momentum into their everyday lives, reminding themselves and others that taking care of one’s mental health is just as vital as academic achievement.

Let’s keep this momentum going—care for yourself today and every day.
