Students from the High School of Fashion Industries had the unique opportunity to attend a performance of Saturday Church at New York Theatre Workshop. The event was a celebration of creativity, identity, and community, giving students a chance to experience live theater in a powerful and personal way.

Saturday Church tells the story of a young person navigating questions of gender and self-expression while facing challenges at home and in society. Through music, movement, and emotional storytelling, the play explores themes of resilience, acceptance, and the search for belonging.

After the show, students participated in a talkback with the cast and creators. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their reactions, and learned more about the inspiration behind the production. The artists spoke about the importance of representation in theater and how stories like Saturday Church can create space for understanding and change.

This experience gave students a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and showed how performance can be a powerful tool for connection and growth. It also allowed them to engage directly with professionals in the arts and explore how storytelling can reflect real-life experiences.

aa\Special thanks to New York Theatre Workshop and the Saturday Church team for welcoming our students and creating such a meaningful experience. Their openness and generosity made the day unforgettable.

We look forward to more opportunities that connect our students with the arts and help them explore new ways to express themselves. Events like this inspire creativity and strengthen the bond between young people and the world of professional storytelling.
