Spooky 2

Halloween is just around the corner — and this year, it lands on Friday, October 31st! At the High School of Fashion Industries, we’re thrilled to celebrate the creativity, imagination, and unique style that define our student body. Halloween gives us a fun opportunity to express ourselves — but just like every great design, there are a few important guidelines to follow to ensure a celebration that is safe, inclusive, and respectful for everyone.

We encourage students to bring their most fashion-forward, fun, and innovative costume ideas to life. However, all costumes must be appropriate for a school setting — this means no violent, graphic themes. To maintain safety, no full-face coverings or masks that conceal a student’s identity are allowed. All students must remain easily identifiable throughout the day. Additionally, fake weapons of any kind — including toy guns, knives, or props that resemble real weapons — are strictly prohibited.

As a diverse and inclusive community, we ask all students to be mindful and intentional with their costume choices. Costumes must not mock, stereotype, or appropriate any race, culture, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability. This includes avoiding costumes that rely on cultural clichés or reinforce harmful tropes. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels respected, seen, and celebrated — in and out of costume.

Let’s make this Halloween at HSFI a celebration of everything we stand for: creativity, inclusivity, originality, and of course — impeccable style. We can’t wait to see how our students reimagine Halloween through the lens of fashion, fun, and respect.
