New York, NY — There’s nothing like the energy of a room full of ambition, curiosity, and bright futures—and that’s exactly what our seniors brought with them to the SUNY College Fair at the Javits Center this week!
Our Class of 2026 had the incredible opportunity to meet with representatives from dozens of State University of New York (SUNY) campuses, learning firsthand about academic programs, campus life, scholarships, and what it takes to succeed at the college level.
Eyes on the Future
From STEM programs to liberal arts, nursing, business, and everything in between, students walked away with a clearer sense of what’s possible after high school. Many had thoughtful conversations with admissions counselors, gathered valuable materials, and even started envisioning themselves walking the halls of a future campus.
"It was inspiring to see so many students asking questions, taking notes, and exploring all the options available to them. The energy was electric,” said Guidance Counselor Ms. Weiss, who accompanied the group on the trip.
College-Ready and Confidence-Filled
Events like the SUNY Fair are more than just field trips—they're stepping stones toward independence and informed decision-making. For many of our students, this was their first experience at a large-scale college event, and they showed up ready to engage, learn, and represent our school community with pride.
HSFI students are thinking big, planning ahead, and dreaming boldly about what comes next.
A Day to Remember
In between conversations with college reps, students also had the chance to connect with peers, reflect on their post-high school goals, and experience what it’s like to navigate a professional event—skills that will benefit them long after graduation.
"It made college feel real. I’m excited now, not nervous," shared one senior after returning from the fair.
