HSFI girls swim team battled against Gompers HS at Truman HS in the Bronx. Coach Sandoval had her girls ready to compete with a decisive 21 - 16 victory. Freshman Alaina Brown challenged herself by swimming a 100 yd backstroke - 4 laps- alongside senior Ace Lopez. Our co-captains, Waverly Edwards and Alana Maldonado competed against each other in the 500 yd freestyle - that's 20 laps! Waverly won. Alana decreased her time by 15 seconds. Meanwhile, Freshman Beatrice Siadari pushed herself to swim the 100 yd breaststroke, personal victories for the individual students that will help the team as the season progresses.
