Over the past several weeks, a dedicated group of students—our Restorative Justice Youth Leaders—have been participating in intensive trainings designed to prepare them to support our school community in powerful and positive ways. These students are learning essential skills in communication, empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution, all rooted in the principles of Restorative Practices.

What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative Justice is a community-building approach that focuses on relationships, responsibility, and repair. Instead of simply reacting to problems, we aim to proactively create spaces where students can connect, reflect, and grow together.

One of the core practices we use is called the Restorative Circle—a structured, respectful dialogue that allows students to speak from the heart, listen deeply, and find common ground.

Why Does This Matter for Your Child?

Restorative Circles can be used to:

  • Build a stronger sense of belonging and trust in the classroom

  • Give students a safe space to share thoughts and feelings

  • Address conflicts or misunderstandings in a healing and respectful way

  • Encourage accountability, empathy, and problem-solving

Whether the goal is to build community, support social-emotional learning, or address a challenging topic, we have a Circle for that—and our youth leaders are ready to help facilitate them.

We’re Now Accepting Restorative Circle Requests!

We are happy to announce that our team is now available to support classrooms and student groups through Restorative Circles. These circles are thoughtfully planned and can be adapted to meet the unique needs of different students and situations.

If you have questions about how Restorative Practices support your child’s learning and well-being, or if you're curious about how circles are used in the classroom, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child's wellness team. We're here to partner with you in building a positive, connected school culture.

Together, we can nurture a school environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
