As the Class of 2028 embarks on a pivotal 10th-grade journey, the message from school staff is clear: You are not alone.
With new academic challenges, growing expectations, and the social-emotional shifts that often define sophomore year, students and families may find themselves needing more support than ever. That’s where the 10th Grade Wellness Team comes in—a dedicated group of professionals working collaboratively to guide students through every step of the school year.
Comprised of expert staff in guidance counseling, attendance, and social work, the 10th Grade Wellness Team takes a holistic approach to student development. Whether it's planning for the future, addressing attendance concerns, or helping students navigate emotional stressors, the team is focused on ensuring no one falls through the cracks.
“We know that 10th grade is a critical year for identity-building, academic momentum, and planning ahead,” said Ms. Guillot, new 10th Grade Counselor. “Our goal is to be proactive partners—not just with students, but with families too.”
Each team member brings a unique area of expertise, which allows for comprehensive support that goes beyond the classroom. Counselors help students stay on track academically and start thinking about post-secondary goals. Attendance liaisons ensure students are present and engaged, while social workers provide emotional and family-centered support during times of transition or stress.
But the work of the Wellness Team isn’t only reactive—it’s also preventive. The team meets regularly to review student progress, identify early warning signs, and develop strategies that empower students to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Parents are encouraged to reach out at any time with concerns or questions.
“This isn’t just about helping students during a crisis,” said Ms. Gold, 10th Grade Social Worker. “It’s about building strong, trusting relationships so that when challenges do arise, they know exactly where to turn.”
With a team committed to walking alongside students throughout the year, the Class of 2028 is well-positioned to grow with confidence, build resilience, and continue their journey toward graduation and beyond.
10th graders, you’ve got this—and your Wellness Team has your back.
