On Monday, September 29, our Student Government Organization (SGO) traded in meetings and microphones for spoons, bouncy balls, and a whole lot of friendly competition. The special SGO Team Building Contest was designed to strengthen teamwork, build trust, and (of course) have some laughs along the way.
Round 1: 🥚 The Great Egg Spoon Race
Six teammates lined up, spoons in hand, with the pressure of keeping an egg steady as they raced across the Yard. The first three carried the egg halfway before carefully transferring it—without cracking!—to the next three. Watching everyone wobble, balance, and sprint set the tone: this wasn’t going to be about speed, but about strategy and trust.
Round 2: 🎣 Magnetic Fishing
This round was all about luck. One player from each team tested their patience fishing for the star-marked catch. The cheers when someone hooked the right fish were almost as loud as the groans from those who kept reeling in the wrong ones.
Round 3: 🏀 Bouncy Ball Race
Three players per team strapped on helmets, grabbed oversized bouncy balls, and bounded their way across the Yard. This round had the most laughter—between the tumbles, near-collisions, and sheer joy of bouncing like kids again, it was impossible not to smile.
Round 4: 🌀 The Pipeline Challenge
Twelve teammates lined up with pipes, working together to guide a ball into a cup. Sounds easy—until the ball dropped. The rule was simple: if it hit the ground, you had to start all over. It quickly became a test of focus, patience, and communication. Teams learned the hard way that success wasn’t just about speed, but about syncing every single move.
Why It Mattered
Beyond the laughs and the little stumbles, this contest was about more than games. Every round required cooperation, trust, and encouragement -the same qualities our SGO leaders bring to the school community every day. These challenges reminded us that leadership isn’t about one person -it’s about building something together.
The morning ended with smiles, high-fives, and maybe a few sore legs from all the bouncing, but most importantly, with a stronger bond between our student leaders.
