Remote Learning Schedule Clarification

HSFI Students

I wanted to try and explain our remote learning schedule in case any students and families are confused. First thing you need to understand is that you can complete work and/or participate in discussions around a schedule that works for you.  The time period indicated on the schedule indicates the time slot that their teacher has reserved solely for their class to post assignments, participate in discussions or answer their questions.  In everything that we do, we want to maintain flexibility for you and your families.

Each class will take place every other day.  What will happen every morning is that I will send out a Remote Learning Daily Attendance Google survey – all students must submit this form each day to certify that they are present for school or identify that they will not be able to participate in school due to illness.  I will be inviting you to my Google Classroom - the name of class will be based on your grade and include MORNING

ANNOUNCEMENTS.

At 9:00 am on Mondays and Wednesdays, your Period 2 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 9:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, your Period 6 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 10:00 am on Mondays and Wednesdays, your Period 3 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 10:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, your Period 7 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 11:00 am, I will then do our morning announcements.  I am still figuring out how I will be sending out those announcements.  More details to follow. It is important to remember that these announcements can be listened to at any point during the day.

All students have lunch until Noon and do not need to log into any classes and no teachers will be posting assignments nor will be available.

At Noon on Mondays and Wednesdays, your Period 4 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At Noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, your Period 8 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 1:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, your Period 5 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.

At 1:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, your Period 1 and/or Period 9 teacher will be posting assignments and be available to answer your questions.   For students who have periods 1 and 9 classes, you can work out a schedule with your specific teachers to connect with them.

We know students have lunch on their regular schedules during Periods 4, 5, 6 and 7 – when you get to these periods in this remote learning schedule, you have a free period.

As far as classes that rotate every other day like Physical Education, Health, Emotions Matter and SAGA – these are the classes that meet Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Thursday.

If you have Physical Education or Health regularly on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, you have Physical Education or Health on Mondays and Wednesdays.  If you have Physical Education or Health regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you have Physical Education or Health on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Emotions Matter classes will not be meeting.  When you have this class, you have a free period.

APPS College Prep classes will not be meeting.  When you have this class, you have a free period.

SAGA classes will be posting assignments and the SAGA tutors will be available to connect with, just not yet.  We will be sending out messages about SAGA soon.

From 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm every day, all teachers will have office hours.  They will be available online to answer questions and provide support to you.   You do not have to be logged on to Google Classroom during this time unless you want to participate in these office hours.

Fridays will be a day totally devoted to office hours.  A different department will have office hours during each remote learning class period.

Math teachers will be available from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

Science teachers will be available from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Physical Education and Spanish teachers will be available from 11:00 am to Noon.

English teachers will be available from Noon to 1:00 pm.

US History, Global History and Economics teachers will be available from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Fashion, Art, Visual Merchandising and Business teachers will be available from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

I hope this explanation helps you fully understand how our remote learning will work.
