It gives us great excitement to announce that Forward Motion Life Success, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on educating, motivating, and empowering youth and adults, has organized the 2nd Dorna Titus Future Leaders Scholarship.
The first scholarship occurred in 2020 and was a great success despite COVID. For the 2022-2023 school year, the scholarship will award a onetime $1000 scholarship to two (2) awardees.
The application for the scholarship can be viewed and submitted through the www.forwardmotionlifesuccess.org web page.
The criterion for the award is listed below:
In addition to attending a high school in New York State, the scholarship is seeking:
· African American, Caribbean American, or Hispanic descent seniors who have overcome adversity and obstacles while giving to others and maintaining high scholastic achievement. Creating positive outcomes despite negative circumstances.
· Minimum GPA of 3.3, and plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college or trade/technical school.
· Guidance Counselor of finalist will be contacted to attest applicant meets the criteria for the scholarship. Application deadline is March 15, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted.
· Scholarship awardees will be required to submit a 1–5-minute video thanking the organization and encouraging other youth to apply for the scholarship in the future. Students will be required to allow Forward Motion Life Success, Inc., to use the video for promotional purposes.
· Forward Motion Life Success, Inc., may, at its discretion, hold a Scholarship Dance/Reception in October 2023. If scheduled, awardees will be provided two (2) complimentary tickets to the event.
· Awardee is required to submit to Forward Motion Life-Success, Inc., upon notification of receiving the award, an invoice for the semester’s tuition and fees, student ID number, and college information
