Welcome to the Principal's office of the High School of Fashion Industries.

Daryl Blank is proud to be in his fourteenth year as Principal of the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI) located on the west side of Manhattan.  He has been at HSFI for 28 years, first as a teacher and sports coach and then as an Assistant Principal.  As Principal, Daryl has carried the baton from previous administrations to help insure that HSFI students continue to thrive both academically in the classroom and through industry partnerships with the school’s Career and Technical Education programs.  Daryl is proud of the innovative practices that he has helped bring to HSFI that use Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning and a comprehensive College Access system.  Academically, the school has become more rigorous during Daryl’s tenure with the addition of calculus, physics and additional Advanced Placement classes.  Daryl’s favorite part of the school day is the morning when he greets all 1,600+ plus students and staff as they enter the building.  He is especially excited to greet the HSFI community for ‘Fashion Dollar Fridays’ and is known as the ‘VTOD Master’ by his students as he screams vocabulary words at them most mornings.  Outside of school, Daryl is passionate about playing basketball and coaching his two kids in youth sports.  Daryl is a proud product of the NYC public schools that includes PS 183, Wagner JHS and the Bronx High School of Science.
