The High School of Fashion Industries School Leadership Team (SLT) is made up of members of every constituency within the school - parents, students, teachers and supervisors. The School Leadership Team meets every month to discuss important issues that impact the school. Every New York City school is required to have a School Leadership Team in accordance with Chancellor's Regulation A-655.
Here are some important things you need to know about the School Leadership Team at Fashion Industries High School:
• The team meets one time every month usually on the third Wednesday of the month
• The meetings are scheduled between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
• Every member of the team gets an opportunity to express their views on the important issues facing the school. The group will be discussing and make recommendations to the Principal regarding the school budget and education plans.
The SLT is responsible for developing the school's Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) and ensuring that it is aligned with the school-based budget. SLTs must use a consensus-based decision-making process as their primary means of decision-making.
